Mousesports Make Changes to CSGO Roster

Mousesports CSGO roster was changed following a disaster at IEM Katowice championship. Two of the most popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive star players have been let go, along with the coach.

The roster that suffered the changes has previously been doing well, winning championships at Starladder Season 4 and ESL One: New York in 2018.

Unfortunately, in Poland, where IEM Katowice is held, things didn’t go so well. They were expected to outperform the lot through the European Minor but failed to qualify forwards.

Chris “chrisJ” de Jong said that Mouz did not practice nearly enough before the big event, because they took a holiday break in December. They were defeated by Valiance 1-2. Since this is unacceptable for the team’s standards, they’ve made changes in Mousesports CSGO roster.

They have announced that their well-known star chrisJ and support player Martin ‘STYKO’ Styk will be put on hold while new options are considered. Their coach, Sergey “Imbt” Bezhanov will also be leaving the team.

Mousesport CEO Stefan Wendt said: “After the most successful season of our history, we already saw some issues within the team towards the end of the year and unfortunately we couldn’t turn it around in Katowice. To secure competitive success in 2019 we feel it is necessary that the team gets a fresh start.”

The only players that will remain in the Mousesports CSGO roster are Tomas ‘oskar’ Stastny, Robin ‘ropz’ Kool and Miikka ‘suNny’.

Miikka ‘suNny’ Kemppi added: “Parting ways after one and a half years and 19 offline tournaments is not easy, but sometimes a few steps back can be multiple steps forward. There are no hard feelings or any bad blood inside the team, we just drove ourselves into a situation we couldn’t get out of and something had to change.”

Who do you think will be taking the places of sacked players, and is the team going to continue to succeed? It is a pity a successful team had to come apart, but just as suNny said, “sometimes a few steps back can be multiple steps forward”.
