LCS 2019 Spring Tournament Preview

LCS 2019 Tournament Info

The North American counterpart to Europe’s professional League of Legends Esports league is starting very soon. In this article, we’ll cover all the important LCS 2019 tournament info!

LCS is, alongside the newly-named LEC, one of the oldest League of Legends Esports tournaments in the world. This is, of course, not even remotely surprising considering some of the best LoL teams ever came from the US (Team Solo Mid, CLG, Cloud9, Dignitas…).

Due to the European series changing its name from EU LCS to LEC, the NA LCS changed its name to just LCS (since the difference is much more obvious now). The same changes that took part in LEC (teams becoming official partners of the tournament, 10 spots, no promotion/relegation, etc.) have been confirmed in LCS.

So, without further ado, let’s cover the LCS 2019 tournament info you want to see!

It will feature a double round robin system and each team plays 18 matches. All of the matches are Bo1. The top 6 qualify for the Summer Playoffs – top 2 are directly seeded into the semifinals. The remaining 4 fight it out in the quarterfinals. The playoffs will be held from 30th of March until April 14, 2019. The matches here will be single elimination Bo5. The winner of LCS 2019 Spring qualifies for MSI 2019!

LCS 2019 Spring Predictions

To round up our LCS 2019 tournament info article, we’ll talk a bit about predictions. By looking at the teams and their past results, 100Thieves may cause an upset. Cloud9 has good potential to achieve a great result, as does Team Liquid. The rest will have a hard time but we may even see TSM come back to their former glory!

In the end, this is a very interesting season to watch out for. Plenty of good games all around!
